- 2004 Madrigal Family Winery Petite Sirah – USA, California, Napa Valley (2/10/2016)
Popped, decanted and served. It definitely needed more air time. Still dark red with no sign of ageing. This is a big wine that’s still pretty young. After a while the black fruits started coming on the palate. The tannins and acid are pretty strong. I don’t know if the fruit will outlive the tannins. I’m going to give it another couple of years to see if it mellows out a bit. (90 points)
