- 2009 Damien Coquelet Chiroubles Vieilles Vignes – France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Chiroubles (2/5/2016)
Decanted a couple of hours before service, but it needed another couple of hours to really start to open up and show something. Bright purple color. The palate started showing raspberries, sweet blueberries, and some menthol with a moderate acidic backbone. I think the wine is starting to come out of a “closed” state and needs another couple of years before trying again. There’s plenty of life left in this wine, like 10-15 years. (90 points)
